You’ll find a range of things to do in Al Ain. Hiking, soaking up some culture at a city museum or seeing cute animals at the zoo are just a few options.

Jebel Halfeet

You could try hiking up the mountain Jabal Hafeet. This mountain stretches for 7.3 miles and rises 1 240 metres (4 068 feet high). All kinds of tombs have been found in the foothills of this mountain, which is the highest peak in Abu Dhab. Once you get to the top, the view over Al Ain is immense.

Al Ain Zoo

Al Ain Zoo is a real treat for families. At the zoo you can see all sorts of interesting creatures, such as pumas, monkeys and crocodiles. The zoo even features ‘celebrity’ animals, which may be a newborn animal or a new animal at the zoo.

Al Ain National Museum

The Al Ain National Museum was founded by the late Sheikh Zayed to protect archaeological discoveries in Abu Dhabi. The museum consists of two main sections. These are the Ethnographic section, which looks at the life of people in the pre-oil area, and the Archaeological section, which exhibits artefacts from the different ages in chronological order, starting from the Stone Age through to the Islamic Ages.

Business in Al Ain

Al Ain International Airport is Abu Dhabi’s second international airport and is located just over 16 miles from the city centre. The journey to the airport is relatively quick at around 30 minutes or a little less by car.

Al Ain offers business opportunities in the form of its free zones, areas which enable free trade and entitle businesses operating in them to certain perks, such as exemption from taxation. Two notable such zones are Al Ain Industrial City, which is located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai cities, and Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park, which is devoted to service providers and manufacturers that operate in the aerospace industry.
